Hi families! Conference sheets have went home. Because conferences are much earlier than they have been in past years, our focus is on goal setting. It would be great if you could talk to your family about some expectations and goals you would like to accomplish this year. Some ideas include: mastering multiplication and/or division facts, becoming a faster typer, improving your reading score, reading an entire book set by the end of the year, joining the millionaire word club, etc. I look forward to meeting with you all!

Hi Room 21 Families,
In our classroom we engaged in a month long kindness challenge, where each day we focused on doing one act of kindness. Today was the end of that challenge. The kids culminated the experience by running a food drive for the entire community. As a result of all of their hard work, the school was able to collect over 430 food items!
Here is a video and picture to celebrate the wonderful achievement. Please congratulate your child for doing so much to spread the kindness in our world.
All the best,
Mr. Ha

Hi Lakewood family,
Sorry for the late update. The students had a great time celebrating Halloween at school. We had our annual parade in the morning and then finished with an end of the day party in class. The students also participated in their publishing party, where they shared their narrative stories with their classmates. Also, please check out the class youtube site for great videos on math and their most recent project on Native Americans www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLafPtw65w9e52NocGtmzN0q5lzQQwuKts.
Here are some pictures from yesterday, as well!

Beginning of the year message! Welcome to 5th grade! My name is Mr. Ha and I am very excited to welcome you to our class for the 2017-2018 school year. I truly believe that ALL students can learn and I will do my very best to challenge and support all of my students. I also believe that school should and must be a place where students feel safe and have fun learning. I hope that we can all work together to create a positive experience for everyone. 5th grade is a critical year for our students as they will soon be moving onto middle school.
